While he was an All-Star in 2012, his true breakout season came in 2013 when he cut his ERA from 3.90 (2012) down to 2.83 and struck out an incredible 277 hitters. Yu Darvish made an immediate impact in his first season in the MLB, winning 16 games and striking out 221 batters in his 29 starts. After spending the beginning of his career in Japan playing in the NPB, he was posted for international bidding and was signed by the Texas Rangers prior to the 2012 season. Yu Darvish is one of the more dynamic and talented starting pitchers that we have ever seen come out of Japan to pitch in the MLB.
